Cashier - Casinos

As a casino cashier your role is to deal directly with guest transactions and enquiries in an efficient and friendly manner at the casino cage. The financial hub for any casino is a cage area where most of the largest financial transactions take place.

It is the responsibility of cashiers to record all cash that is coming into the cage area and the source from which it comes; which can be numerous. The cashier will commonly count out the cash as well as perform some simple accounting duties. He or she may also help with troubleshooting if there are any problems getting everything to reconcile. An inventory in which all cash and equivalents including credit slips and chips is also typically conducted at least once daily and sometimes between shifts as well.

Knowledge:
• To maintain and take responsibility for a cash float
• To carry out customer transactions and exchange money for chips
• To handle all incoming money from the casino
• To count, record and reconcile cash balances
• To carry out basic bookkeeping
• To provide credit for clients
