As a cook your role will be to prepare, cook and serve nutritious and hygienic meals. You will prepare large volumes of meals, ensuring recipes are followed and portion controls are adhered to. You will allocate work to kitchen/catering assistants and supervise as appropriate. With their assistance you will clean, prepare, cook and finish foods for basic dishes.
You will be required to ensure the kitchen is prepared for service and that work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times. You will complete kitchen documentation, minimise all kitchen wastage and maintain adequate stocks. You require a methodical approach to work with good organisation and planning skills and will be effective in a team, ensuring you keep others informed and work effectively under pressure.
