Overview

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to assess any hazardous manual handling tasks that cannot be avoided and reduce the risk of injury, so far as is reasonably practicable. Whilst employers don’t need to provide a qualification they find it useful to undertake the level 2 Certificate in Manual Handling Risk Assessment as it provides formal recognition of an individual's ability to undertake such an assessment.
It is assessed via a workplace-based manual handling risk assessment task which is delivered electronically to candidates.
