Abode Manchester
I have been working for ABode since 2006. For me, life with the company started as Restaurant Manager in Exeter and shortly after promoted to Operations Manager. Abode gave me an opportunity to learn the business in all areas. Initially I was mainly focussing on the different Food and Beverage outlets. In 2009 I went to Manchester to continue as their Operations Manager. Using my skills in F&B I pushed the business forward and maximised every selling opportunity. At the same time ABode taught me the rudiments of Revenue Management. I always had an interest in the accommodation side of Hotels and Abode took the opportunity to develop me as an all rounder manager.
In 2010 I was part of the opening team of our newest property ABode Chester. This was a fantastic experience, finally I was able to execute all the skills I learned to launch this fantastic property, opening with a new team to support the ABode way. I was nominated for an Acorn award and had the privilege not only to win it but also to host the event, welcoming the top 30 people under 30 years old, the cream of the success stories in the hospitality industry.
These days I am back in Manchester in my new role of General Manager.
I love the city, the clients but mostly the people I work with. This is what ABode is all about, look after each other and wow our guest every step of the way. I could not have progressed without the support of ABode and I am sure my journey with the company will not finish here. There are still more opportunities to develop as the company expands.
